Brief Profile

Vipul Sharma has over 6 years of work experience on business & biodiversity issues in India. Mr. Sharma has crosscutting experience on global knowledge sharing, implementing field projects, capacity building and policy advocacy involving stakeholders from different sections of the society. Currently, Mr. Sharma is handling the responsibility of Private Sector Engagement of IUCN in India under which he has been directly associated with IUCN - DPCL engagement and IUCN - TATA Steel engagement, flagship projects of IUCN in Asia.

Mr. Sharma is Certified Trainer of World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)’s Businesses Ecosystem Training (BET) and has conducted many BET workshops for corporate in India. Mr. Sharma has participated as speaker at various notable national and international forums including Leaders for Nature Forum 2015 Eindhoven, Netherlands; Leaders for Nature Annual Event 2013 Amsterdam, Netherlands; IUCN Business Week 2013 in Gland, Switzerland; Better Air Quality (BAQ) conference 2012 in Hong Kong.

Mr. Sharma’s area of interest includes biodiversity conservation, ecosystem management and corporate biodiversity governance. Mr. Sharma has published many research papers, articles, reports, web stories and in various international journal and newsletters. Star Alliance- Biosphere Connections Newsletter published an article on Mr. Sharma’s thoughts on private sector engagements in September 2013 edition.
